Where are we taking you?

How about to a beautiful place for an amazing workout…how about a Carmel Beach Workout!

On of the beautiful veiws we get on Saturday!

Why?

A few reasons. First off, field trips are fun. They get you out of your normal routine trying something different.

Secondly, I LISTEN TO YOU! If you have a great idea for a Bootcamp field trip, then let us know! Diane Williams (veteran bootcamper) has been trying to get me out to this particular beach in Carmel to do a killer beach workout for over a year now. And after seeing it for myself, you will definitely NOT be disappointed! Only the locals know about this little paradise of a beach, so we are for sure in for a treat!

What’s the plan?

We’re going to CANCEL our regular Saturday Bootcamp on March 20th and head out to Carmel. We’ll give you a little “drive time” in the morning, and start the workout at 10am. It’s really easy to get to, directions are below. From The San Jose Area you can expect to drive about an hour 15, and from Gilroy it will take you about 45 minutes.

Then at 10am,plan to get a rockin’ workout lead by all your

favorite bootcamp instructors.

With scenery like this, you’ll be in workout heaven. The workout will be about an hour 15 and include all sorts of great exercises, including the “gauntlet” of stairs and a beautiful trail that loops back to the beach.
We’ll be meeting up at a local Cantina after the workout if you want to stay out and enjoy Carmel a little longer. (According to Rob, they have great food and a killer Margarita.)

Afterwards, you could always go enjoy Point Lobos, which is a beautiful park with breath-taking views and beautiful trails for hiking.

Bring the Family and Friends!

I am totally encouraging you to bring your spouse, kids, friends, whoever, to join in on the fun. The more the merrier! If you didn’t want to join us at the cantina afterwards, you could always pack a picnic and enjoy the beautiful scenery!

Where?

Carmel Woods. From HWY 1 turn right on Ribera Road. This road takes you through a nieighborhood, then all of the sudden you’re at the ocean. If you stay on Ribera, it dead-ends. There’s a sign at the entrance that says “dogs on leash”, and other beach rules.
Park on Ribera Road and we’ll meet right there.

More Detailed Directions:

From HWY 1, you’ll drive PAST Ocean Ave, then another 1/4 mile, you’ll drive past Carmel Valley Road, then go past Rio Road. Once you pass Rio Road, Ribera will be another .2ish miles (from Ocean Avenue to Ribera Road is about 1 mile).

If you want a map, below is the address of Diane’s home out there which is very close to our meeting spot:

2605 Ribera Road
Carmel CA (don’t GO to the house…it’s just a reference point!)

If you need to make a “pit stop” before heading to the workout, there’s a Chevron at the corner of Hwy 1 and Rio.

So that’ it folks! Our super-fun workout at the beach in Carmel will start at 10am and go till 11:15am, then we’re heading to a fabulous Cantina a few minutes up the road for some eats and drinks.
