Audra's Results after one week!

What a week!

It’s amazing what happens when you clean it up and focus! You’ll have to see the video to see my results. : )

The workout for Today:

I did 20 reps of each of these exercises: I’ll post the video tomorrow.

  • Renegade Rows with kettle bells
  • Swings (KB)
  • Medicine Ball Pushups
  • Single leg dead lift w/ KB
  • “Jay Hawks”….these kicked my butt
  • 100 skips

I did this 3 times through, so 600 reps total. I want to come back to this workout in a week or so and do my real goal of 5 sets, or 1000 reps. Although I didn’t have much time (excuse!), the truth is that by the time I finished the 3rd set, I wanted to die! I can’t even lift my arms right now!!!)

Food:

Breakfast:

Steel Cut Oats with prunes, flax, 2 egg whites, almond milk, (yup…you can see by the picture here that I mix it ALL up!). Green tea

Snack: Apple with Almond Butter (I know I over did it today on the almond butter. Tomorrow I’m back to measuring)

Snack: Post workout shake

Lunch: Same as yesterday….it was soooo yummy!

Salad greens with shredded broccoli and carrots.

Add ¼ cup black beans and ¼ cup corn and however much salsa you want

Top with southwestern black bean veggie burger and small scoop of cottage cheese. It was a weird concoction…but soooo yummy!

Dinner: bowl of Pozole soup, one tamale, 2 bites of Miguel’s cake and 1 bite of Dulce de Leche candy.

Becky's famous Pozole. mmmmmmm.....

Tonight was my first Christmas party! My women’s leads group had a “south of the boarder” themed party where our host Becky spent DAYS in the kitchen putting together an authentic Mexican feast. And it was delicious. I feel that I made good choices and didn’t over eat (which is what I tend to do at parties).

Pozole is a soup dish (what is it with me and soup lately?), make from pork, corn (corn’s not the right word…) and loaded with veggies. I decided to forgo the tortilla chips

I also solved the dessert dilemma by having 2 bites of Miguel’s cake and a bite of my favorite Mexican candy, Dulce de Leche. I’m quite proud of myself because I know that without the amount of consciousness I have right now, there would have been a whole lot more than that in my belly!

The cake is called choco-flan.

I LOVE these little candies! I can't believe I only had a bite!

I’m now at home finishing up my blog feeling very good! It’s nice to come home from a party not feeling over-stuffed!

As the months go by, my regime will become a bit stricter. But for now, my focus is to enjoy the holiday by being mindful and not overdoing it. It’s amazing that just by doing that (being more mindful), I’ve managed to lose about 4 pounds!

I hope you’ll join in with me!
